WILSON, N.C. – The Chowan Golf team finished 11th overall at the Barton Intercollegiate on Tuesday despite a strong outing to start the season.

ON THE COURSE

Jaxon Eck posted a four-over 72 in the final round to lead the Hawks.  Eck tallied a birdie with 12 pars to end his round to finish tied for 36th.

Graham Cowan shot a 76 with nine pars and a birdie to finish tied for 45th.

Patrick Sullivan stayed consistent with his third round of 80.  Sullivan posted six pars and a birdie.  Bryce Simms and Bennett Swafford posted an 84 while John Mata finished with a 93.

Annery Abreu led the women with a final round 85 to finish 29th.  Abreu would pick up five pars in the round including four on the front.

Heidi Jensen posted two pars in her final round to finish with a 105, an eight stroke improvement from round one.  Teja Whitehurst carded a 131.

UP NEXT

The Chowan Men's team will travel to Goldsboro to compete in the Trojan Invitational on March 29-30.  The women's golf team is not scheduled to compete until April 11-13 at the Conference Carolinas Championship.
