MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Montevallo at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Jaxon Martin paced the Hawks with five points registering one goal and four assists.  Erik Dozzi posted his first collegiate hat-trick with three goals.

Eric George and Jackson Downs notched two goals each.  Downs, Humberto Briceno, and Alex Wildeboer posted an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Quarter:

Montevallo scored four goals in the period before Jackson Downs found Jaxon Martin on a scooping goal to put the Hawks on the board.

Alex Wildeboer would find Eric George a minute later to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.

The Falcons scored two goals in the final minute to lead 6-2.

Second Quarter:

Jaxon Martin assisted on a goal by Eric George in the period before Martin found Erik Dozzi for a goal.

Montevallo would lead 12-4 at the intermission.

Third Quarter:

The Falcons exploded for 12 goals in the period including seven goals before Jackson Downs scored an unassisted tally.

Fourth Quarter:

Montevallo led 27-5 before Humberto Briceno found Jackson Downs for his first point of the season.  Jaxon Martin would find Erik Dozzi for a goal to trail 27-7.

Jaxon Martin found Erik Dozzi again for the final tally of the contest for the Hawks.
