Chowan Hosts King In Weekend Basketball Action

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan Men's and Women's Basketball team host King in a pair of contests on Friday and Saturday in Conference Carolinas action.

NO SPECTATORS ARE PERMITTED INSIDE THE HAWKS ATHLETIC CENTER.

  • Last Game: Chowan dominated Southern Wesleyan on the road picking up two wins including an 82-41 win on Saturday.
  • Aniah Patterson leads the squad averaging 11.9 points per game.  Destiny Robinson posted back-to-back 20+ point outings to improve her scoring average to 11.4 points a game.
  • Monique Jones is averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.

  • Last Game: Defeated North Greenville 65-62 on the road on Tuesday.
  • Kiki Samsel and Trinity Lee lead the team averaging 12.5 and 12.4 points per game.  Ryleigh Fritz (10.3) and Ali Golden (10.2) are in double-figure scoring for the Tornado.

  • Jonathan McFall leads the team averaging 17.0 points per game.  Jaedon Willis (15.7), Elijah Hill (11.4), and Jaylen Dilliard (11.3) are in double-figures.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
