MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Esports program continues to build momentum with four more wins for the Valorant team over the past two weeks.
VALORANT ACTION
Bryce Shultz (dustee) led the Hawks with 155 kills and 54 assists over the past two week. Dorian May (Astral) collected 145 kills with 33 assists. Michael Bannister (TensaiFly) added 119 kills with 49 assists.
Nathan Fisk (Arcturus) posted 69 kills and 43 assists, while Caleb Maher (Patty) tallied 66 kills and 56 assists.
Chowan started the week with a 2-0 victory over Roger Williams in ECAC action. The Hawks would handle their opponent quickly with a 13-1 and 13-4 victory. Dorian May (Astral) and Bryce Shultz (dustee) notched 46 kills each.
The Hawks would ten take down UNC Greensboro in MCEA action 13-9. Chowan had strong performances by Michael Bannister (TensaiFly) with 25 kills, while Bryce Shultz (dustee) and Dorian May (Astral) collected 24 kills each.
To start off last week, Chowan needed overtime to take down Bryant in ECAC action with a 15-13 overtime victory in the opening map before taking the match with a 13-7 map win. Dorian May (Astral) paced the Hawks with 28 kills in the opening map. Michael Bannister (TensaiFly) had 19 kills in the second map.
Chowan would compete in the PhillyEsports Collegiate Valorant Tournament hosted by the US Army. The Hawks would fall to Georgia Tech in the Round of 32.
The Blue and White would bounce back with a sweep (13-0) against Lees-McRae in MCEA action as Bryce Shultz (dustee) would produce a 27:1 outing to lead the Hawks.
ROCKET LEAGUE
Over the past two weeks, Caleb Maher (Patty) collected 13 goals, four assists, and 27 saves. Sullivan Prince (Princey98) tallied six goals, five assists, and 13 saves. Prince posted four assists in the loss to Randolph-Macon. Shane Price-Loyd added five goals, four assists, and 15 saves.
The Hawks would see their two match win streak come to a close as the Hawks would go 0-5 over the past two weeks. Chowan started the run with a 3-0 loss to Charlotte in MCEA action before a tough 3-2 loss to Randolph-Macon in ECAC action.
UNC Greensboro would hand the Hawks a 3-0 loss before falling to East Carolina 2-0 in MCEA action. The Blue and White battled to a 3-1 loss to New England in ECAC action to conclude the week.
UP NEXT
Chowan starts the week in MCEA action on Monday against Winthrop in Valorant and Rocket League competitions. The Hawks will then take on UNC Wilmington in MCEA Rocket League only action on Tuesday before taking on Farmingdale State in ECAC Valorant action. The match with Farmingdale State is a crucial match in the ECAC standings.
The Hawks will conclude the week with ECAC Rocket League action against Penn State Behrend on Wednesday.
