Rocket League Secures Win, Hawks Esports Weekly Update

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Esports program went 1-3 on the week picking up a victory against Assumption in Rocket League action.

Valorant Action

Bryce Shultz (dustee) led the week with 70 kills and 40 assists.  Dorian May (Astral) tallied 66 kills and 31 assists.  Michael Bannister (TensaiFly) finished the week with 57 kills and 24 assists.

Nathan Fisk (Arcturus) would post 44 kills and 15 assists, while Caleb Maher (Patty) finished with 25 kills and 29 assists.

SUNY Poly:

The Hawks would rally back from a deficit to take an 11-9 advantage before Dorian May (Astral) ended the first map with a kill to take the 1-0 lead, 13-11.  Bryce Shultz (dustee) led the team with 27 kills.

Chowan faced another deficit, this time 10-2 before rallying back.  The Hawks would even the contest up at 10-all before dropping the map 13-11.  Dorian May (Astral) posted 30 kills in the round.

SUNY Poly jumped out to another lead to finish off the contest with the third map victory, 13-6.

Clemson:

The Hawks would drop the contest against the Tigers 13-0.  Bryce Shultz (dustee) paced the team with eight kills and three assists.  Michael Bannister (TensaiFly) posted six kills, while Dorian May (Astral) added five kills and two assists.  Nathan Fisk (Arcturus) and Caleb Maher (Patty) posted three kills each.

Rocket League Action

Caleb Maher (Patty) tallied seven goals, two assists, and nine saves during the week.  Sullivan Prince (Princey98) added four assists with seven saves and one assist.  Shane Price-Loyd (Ogsnowman71) posted seven saves and three assists.

Assumption:

Caleb Maher (Patty) led the team with five goals, two assists, and seven saves.

In the opening game, the Hawks would take a 1-0 game lead with a 3-2 victory as Sullivan Prince (Princey98) scored the overtime winner off the assist from Caleb Maher (Patty).

During the second game, Sullivan Prince (Princey98) returned the favor in overtime with the game-winner coming from Caleb Maher (Patty) to win 1-0.

In the final game, Chowan would take the victory with a 3-2 win to take the match 3-0.  Caleb Maher (Patty) scored twice in the contest.

Clemson:

Clemson opened up the contest with a 7-1 win in MCEA action with Caleb Maher (Patty) picking up the goal.  The Hawks would rally back in the second game to keep it close as Clemson took the series with the 5-3 win.  Sullivan Prince (Prince98) scored two goals in the game along with one by Caleb Maher (Patty).  Shane Price-Loyd (Ogsnowman71) posted all three assists.

UP NEXT

Chowan will open the week in MCEA action against UNC Greensboro on Tuesday, October 5 with Valorant and Rocket League action.  The Hawks will take on Lycoming in ECAC Valorant action also on Tuesday. 

The Blue and White will take on Kean in ECAC action on Wednesday with Rocket League before wrapping up the week on Thursday in MCEA action against East Carolina in Valorant and Rocket League.
