Chowan Basketball Travels To Mount Olive

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan Women's Basketball team is coming off a pair of dominating wins over Converse in league action, while the Chowan Men's Basketball team should be well rested after the 10 day layoff.

GAME NOTES

  • Last Game: Defeated Converse 86-50 on Saturday.
  • Chowan picked up the sweep against Converse with a 31.5 point margin of victory.  Hawks shot 57.2% from the floor over the weekend.
  • Aniah Patterson leads the team with 11.0 ppg with Destiny Robinson at 10.4 ppg and 7.2 rpg.
  • Brianna Copeland averaged 18.0 ppg over the weekend off the bench.

  • Last Game: Defeated North Greenville 79-60.
  • Mount Olive is on a two game win streak with a win over Converse (67-50) and North Greenville (79-60).  Their game on Sunday against NGU was postponed.
  • The Trojans have four players in double-figures led by Azariah Fields (17.5 ppg).

  • Chowan hasn't played since Jan. 16 with their game against Erskine postponed from Saturday.
  • Jaedon Willis paces the Hawks with 20.7 ppg (second in the Conference Carolinas).  Jonathan McFall averages 16.3 ppg.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
