Hawks Head To NGU For Double Dip Weekend

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - After getting the opening game jitters out of the way after the long layoff, the Chowan Men's and Women's Basketball teams head south to take on North Greenville in a weekend doubleheader playing on Friday and Saturday.

NO SPECTATORS ARE PERMITTED.

  • Last Game: Lost 81-52 to Barton at home on Wednesday.
  • Chowan struggled from the floor shooting 28.8% and 21 turnovers.
  • Destiny Robinson led the team with 10 points.  Demetria Bland posted eight points.  Kyani Moore scored six points and hauled in six rebounds.

  • The Crusaders return three of the top four scorers from last season with Savannah Hughes (10.8), Journey Muhammad (9.8), and Peace Okeke (9.1) returning.

  • Last Game: Defeated Barton 95-65 at home on Wednesday.
  • Four Hawks were in double-figures led by Jaedon Willis with 22 points.  Jaylen Dilliard picked up 18 points, while Jonathan McFall and Elijah Hill scored 16 and 15 points respectively.  McFall led the team with eight rebounds.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
