INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Despite taking the loss, Wyatt Beakler produced a quality start with 7.1 innings allowing five hits while striking out seven.

Jack Kane and Trenton Lee picked up two hits each.  Kane hit a home run for the lone run of the contest for the Hawks.

Noah Evington and Tyler Jones added one hit apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Noah Evington drew a one-out full count walk in the top of the first for the first base runner of the contest.

Trenton Lee picked up a single in the second inning.  Noah Cartwright reached on a fielder's choice but was left stranded.

Wyatt Beakler worked out of a self-induced jam in the bottom of the second as two hit-by-pitches and a walk loaded the bases with one out.  Beakler would get a strikeout and a fly out to end the inning.

Jack Kane and Trenton Lee produced singles in the fourth inning but a double play would end the inning and keep the game scoreless.

Mount Olive would crack the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning on two hits to lead 1-0.

Jack Kane evened the game in the sixth inning with a long home run down the left field line.

Chowan looked to have taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning as Noah Evington singled to center and moved to second on a passed ball.  Tyler Jones ripped a single up the middle that looked to have scored Evington from second but was called out at the plate to end the inning.

The Trojans took the momentum in the bottom of the inning to score the go-ahead and insurance run to lead 3-1.

Patrick Krack drew a one-out pinch hit walk but was wiped away on a double play.
