HOW IT HAPPENED

King would take a 1-0 lead on the second batter of the contest with a solo home run.

Wyatt Beakler settled in to work quickly in the second and third innings.

Tyler Jones singled to start the third inning but was erased on a double play.  Patrick Krack drew a walk before Jack Kane and Travis Cross were hit by pitches.  Chowan looked to have had their first run of the contest as Dallas Trevena was hit by a pitch after the pitching change but kept in the box.  The rally would go for not.

King capitalized on leaving the bases loaded to score four runs off four hits to lead 5-0 in the fourth.

Jared Fry drew an 11 pitch walk before moving to second on a passed ball and third on a wild pitch.  A long fly out ended the inning.

The Tornado pushed their lead to 8-0 in the seventh on a three-run home run.

Chowan was able to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Brock Cross and Trenton Lee started the inning with base hits.  Tyler Jones and Jared Fry produced ground outs to move the runners around and allowed Cross to score.

In the eighth, Travis Cross singled to left and Dallas Trevena was granted the hit by pitch.  Two pop ups in the infield ended the threat.
