PEMBROKE, N.C. – In the second game in two days, the Chowan Baseball team suffered a 14-3 setback against UNC Pembroke in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

Dallas Trevena led the Hawks at the plate going 2-4. Jared Fry launched his fourth home run of the season, while Tristan Council registered his first of his career.
Tyler Jones, Jared Fry and Tristan Council picked up a RBI.
Slade Cowan took the loss on the mound tossing 3.2 innings allowing three runs off five hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jared Fry gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead as Fry went deep to right center as the second batter of the inning.
UNC Pembroke quickly took the lead in the bottom of the inning with a lead-off double and a two run home run to lead 2-1.
The Braves kept the Hawks grounded until the fourth inning when Trenton Lee singled down the line.
In the fifth inning, Tristan Council went deep to left to open the inning and knot the game at 2-all. Dallas Trevena singled to right before swiping second. Tyler Jones singled to center to plate Trevena to take a 3-2 lead.
The lead would not hold long as two singles in the inning led to a three run home run for the Braves. After a pitching change, the Braves added two more runs on a two run shot to lead 7-3.
The Hawks looked to rally in the seventh as Brendon Grant singled with one out. Patrick Krack drew a walk but would be left on the bags.
UNCP added three runs in the bottom of the inning to extend their lead to 10-3. The Braves posted four more runs in the eighth for the final tally of 14-3.

Chowan returns to Hawkins Field for a four-game series against Kutztown on Saturday and Sunday, February 15-16. First pitch is at 12pm both days.
