LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team rallied to pick up an 11-8 victory over NAIA St. Andrews on the road on Tuesday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Jack Kane led the Hawks at the plate going 3-5. Jared Fry picked up two hits and tallied five RBI. Kane, Fry and Patrick Krack recorded home runs in the win.
Dallas Trevena tallied two doubles on the afternoon.
Robert Burns recorded the win in relief tossing 1.2 innings. Jarret Henderson picked up second straight save tossing 1.2 innings and struck out two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
St. Andrews took the early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a solo home run. Jack Kane would answer in the top of the second with a lead-off home run to left field. Dallas Trevena doubled to left center but was left stranded.
The Knights tallied two more runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 3-1. Two singles and a walk helped aid the rally.
Patrick Krack belted his first home run of the season in the top of the third to lead off the inning and close the gap to 3-2. St. Andrews answered in the bottom of the third inning to lead 4-2.
The Hawks were unable to use the lead-off double by Jack Kane and a walk by Trenton Lee in the fourth as a caught stealing and a strikeout ended the threat.
Chowan would inch closer in the top of the fifth as Noah Cartwright started off the inning with a walk. Patrick Krack's fielder's choice wiped out Cartwright but Krack would move to third on an error. Jared Fry produced a RBI groundout to plate Krack to trim the deficit to 4-3.
The Knights countered in the bottom of the sixth with another run to lead 5-3. Robert Burns would come in and get the final out of the inning.
Dallas Trevena sparked a rally in the seventh inning with a double to right center. Noah Cartwright brought home Trevena with a single up the middle. After an error and a walk to load the bases, Jared Fry singled home a run and Travis Cross hit a sacrifice fly that scored two runs to take the 7-5 lead. Brock Cross singled home a run to lead 8-5.
The Knights looked to scratch across a run in the bottom of the inning getting a runner to third but a ground out would end the threat.
Chowan continued their rally into the eighth inning as Patrick Krack was hit by a pitch with two outs. Tyler Jones drew a walk before Jared Fry sent a three-run shot over the right field fence to lead 11-5. Travis Cross drew a walk and Jack Kane singled in the inning but no further damage was done.
St. Andrews chipped away at the deficit in the bottom of the eighth plating three runs on two hits and two free passes. Jarret Henderson picked up a strikeout and a foul out to minimize the damage.
In the ninth inning, Jarret Henderson had a 1-2-3 inning to close the door and pick up the save.
