Chowan slipped to 3-11 on the season and 3-7 in league action. The Hawks are on a three game slide and look to bounce back from a home loss last weekend.
Mariah Coker leads the team with 10.6 points a night. Coker sits with 938 career points as she inches closer to her personal milestone of 1,000 points. Demetria Bland is in double-figures with 10.2 points a game. Bland will look to rebound from her low-scoring outing in which she has collected two points the last two games.
Chowan picked up the win last year in non-conference action in Gaffney, 68-57.
HALTING THE MARCHING SAINTS
Limestone enters the contest with a 12-5 overall record and a 7-4 mark in league play. The Saints are coming off a big win against the undefeated Emmanuel Lions in league action.
The Saints have four players in double-figures led by Schekinah Bimpa with 14.1 points. Alexis Armstrong (12.4), Reagan McCray (12.4), and Quin Byrd (11.1) average double-digits. Bimpa also leads the team with 10.7 rebounds a night.
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS – Men's Basketball
Chowan is coming off their biggest win this season after knocking off regionally ranked King at home over the weekend to improve to 5-8 on the season and 2-6 in Conference Carolinas play.
Freshman, BJ McLaurin, leads the charge with 16.0 points and 10.8 rebounds a night. McLaurin leads the league in rebounds per game and is 11th in scoring. Ja'Darien Wade averages 14.0 points a game, while Jaylen Dilliard chips in with 12.1 points.
Despite limited action, Khalil Ridges, Jamal Thomas, and Isaiah Lewis have been spark plugs for the Hawks lately. Thomas scored a career-high 21 points against King. Lewis also scored a career-high 21 points against Mount Olive, while Ridges continues to gain playing time with his defense.
CONTINUING THE SAINTS' TREND
Limestone is still searching for the formula to return to former glory as the Saints are 3-15 on the season and 2-8 in league play. The Saints have been below .500 since the 2016-17 season in which they went 27-6 and made an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
The Saints have played tough in five of their last six contests and have lost three straight.
Rudy Bibb-Boyd leads the team with 14.1 points per game. Joseph Battle chips in with 11.8 points.
