BELMONT, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team suffered a Conference Carolinas loss to nationally-ranked Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon.

Patrick Egan led the Hawks with four goals. Jason Jenkins II and Alex Clabaugh netted two goals each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Belmont Abbey jumped out to an early 6-0 lead. Patrick Egan put the Hawks on the board midway through the quarter.
The Crusaders would finish the quarter with five more goals to lead 11-1.
Second Quarter:
The Crusaders dominated the quarter with nine goals to lead 20-1 at the intermission. The Hawks tallied three shots in the period.
Third Quarter:
The Hawks took only two shots in the period and found the back of the net both times. Jason Jenkins II scored before Alex Clabaugh found Patrick Egan for the final tally of the period to trail 27-3.
Fourth Quarter:
Patrick Egan struck twice for the Hawks in the early portion of the period. Alex Clabaugh found the back of the net to trim the deficit to 28-6.
Alex Clabaugh scored a man-up goal before Jason Jenkins II posted the final score for the Hawks.
