FLORENCE, S.C. – Chowan Baseball was unable to thwart the high powered offense of Francis Marion in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon.

Nick Rose paced the offense with two hits and two RBI. Anthony Jefferson went 2-3 at the plate.
Jack Kane and Nicholas Lees tallied one hit being a double. Dallas Trevena recorded a hit.
Francis Marion recorded 19 hits on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jack Kane started off the hitting for the Hawks in the second inning with a double. Dallas Trevena singled to the shortstop but was left stranded.
Francis Marion took advantage of three errors in the bottom half of the inning to lead 6-0.
Chowan cracked the scoreboard in the third inning as Anthony Jefferson singled with one out. Jefferson would swipe second before coming around to score on Nick Rose's single. Brock Cross and Marquise Lanier drew the free pass to load the bases. Jack Kane brought home Rose after being hit by a pitch, 6-2. Harley Davidson and Dallas Trevena hit long fly balls to center but unable to get another run across.
FMU used another big inning to push the advantage to 11-2 after a five run third inning.
Nicholas Lees drew a walk in the fourth and Anthony Jefferson singled to put runners on the corners but was left stranded. The Patriots added two runs in the fourth to lead 13-2.
After a two run fifth inning by FMU, the Hawks were able to score twice in the sixth. Dallas Trevena reached on an error and moved to third on Nicholas Lees' double. Nick Rose singled to score Trevena before a wild pitch scored Lees.
The Patriots posted their final tally in the sixth inning on a ground out, 16-4.
