MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Softball team will start their CIAA title defense this weekend at the CIAA Round-Up in Elizabeth City.

Saturday, March 16 | Johnson C. Smith and Fayetteville State

Sunday, March 17 | Claflin, Winston-Salem State, and Shaw

HAWKS HITTERS

Beth Walker leads the team with a .390 batting average.  Walker also has six doubles.  Brittany Parson has two home runs and 12 RBI.

The Hawks have not played since March 2 and enter the round-up with a 1-15 record.

FACING THE SOUTHERN DIVISION

Newcomer, Claflin, is 12-12 on the season.  The Panthers are picked to finish second in the league behind the Hawks.  Winston-Salem enters with a 9-4 record.

Livingstone, Shaw, St. Augustine's, Fayetteville State, and Johnson C. Smith are winless on the year.
