HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One: Chowan 4, Anderson 10

Beth Walker started off the contest with a one out single to right.  Jesse Gentry reached on a fielder's choice as the attempt at second went into the outfield.  Brittany Parson registered her first home run of the season to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead early.

In the bottom of the inning, Anderson responded with three runs to even the score as the first three batters reached base safely.

EmaRae Flores led off the second with a double to deep center but was left stranded at third.  Flores would pitch out of jams in the middle innings to keep the score knotted at three a side.

After a pitching change, Anderson tallied three runs in the fifth inning as two hits and an error prolonged the inning for the Trojans to lead 6-3.

Miranda Glover recorded a two-out single in the sixth before coming around to score on Hannah Naifeh's double to center to cut the deficit to 6-4.

The Trojans tacked on four runs in the sixth to take the contest 10-4.

Game Two: Chowan 1, Anderson 9 (5 innings)

After a two hour lightning delay, neither team found their way on base in the opening frame.

Lindsey Stigler provided the lone tally for the Hawks in the second inning on a solo home run.

The Trojans answered in the bottom half of the inning as a base knock turned into a run-down and allowed a one-out walk to score to even the contest at 1-all.

Chowan had a chance to take the lead in the third inning as Haley Cooper drew a two out walk.  Beth Walker doubled to right center and Jesse Gentry was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  The Hawks would leave the bases full.

Anderson used small ball in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead.  The Trojans added two runs in the fourth inning to stretch the lead to 4-1.

Beth Walker doubled in the fifth inning but was left stranded before the Trojans pushed across five runs with two outs in the bottom half of the inning to take the run-rule victory.
