HAWKS FILES – WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Chowan dropped to 11-11 on the season following the loss to Salem in non-conference action on Wednesday evening. The Hawks are 7-5 in the CIAA this season and 1-4 in the Northern Division.
Danielle Weldon is coming off a 33 point and 20 rebound outing against Salem. Weldon leads the team with 13.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Weldon sits with 910 career points.
Jada Lee and Mariah Coker chip in with 9.6 and 9.0 points respectively. Lee is 25 steals away from becoming the career DII leader in steals.
DEFEATING THE VIKINGS
Elizabeth City State is 13-10 on the season and 5-7 in the CIAA. The Vikings are 2-3 in the Northern Division.
Naterria Luster leads the Vikings averaging 18.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per night. Jayln Brown and Asia Deal average 14.4 and 12.4 points respectively.
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS– MEN'S BASKETBALL
Chowan fell to 12-9 on the season after the close loss to Salem in a non-conference contest onn Wednesday. The Hawks are 5-7 in the CIAA and 2-3 in the Northern Division.
Timothy Bing leads the team averaging 17.3 points per game. Demetrius Sanders chips in with 15.7 points and 7.0 rebounds. Gus Rowland adds 14.8 points, 7.7 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per night. Michael Kelly rounds out the double-digit scoring with 11.3 points and 7.6 rebounds.
Gus Rowland continues to stay near the top of the NCAA in assists per game sitting in third and builds on his single-season assist total with 162.
EYEING THE VIKINGS
ECSU is 11-12 on the season with a 7-5 mark in the CIAA. The Vikings sit in fifth in the CIAA Northern Division with a 1-4 record.
John Maynor leads the team with 11.5 points per night. Justin Faison and Shyheid Petteway chip in with 10.7 and 10.6 points respectively.
