MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Conference Carolinas opener for the Chowan Men's Lacrosse team did not go as planned as #17 Mount Olive handed the Hawks a 19-2 loss on Wednesday afternoon.

Patrick Egan and Alex Clabaugh recorded the lone goals for the Hawks. Jaxon Martin tallied an assist.
Chowan stepped up the offense in the second half after being held to only two shots in the opening 30 minutes of play.
The Hawks were 1-25 at the face-off spot.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Mount Olive jumped on the board quickly with five goals in the opening four minutes. Slater Bender recorded two saves.
The Trojans continued to score in the quarter leading 10-0 at the horn.
Second Quarter:
Alex Clabaugh tallied the first shot of the contest for the Hawks but was saved. Noah Holloway recorded a shot on goal but was denied.
The Trojans led 14-0 at the intermission.
Third Quarter:
Alex Clabaugh broke up the shutout with the lone goal in the quarter. Jaylen Pierre, Jaxon Martin, and Austin Lee recorded shots on frame.
Fourth Quarter:
Adam Brown kept the Trojans off the board until the fourth quarter as UMO pushed their advantage to 19-1.
Patrick Egan scored with 11 seconds left off a pass from Jaxon Martin to end the contest.
