Every month throughout the calendar year,
Chowan Athletics will be highlighting student-athletes in the new series
FEATURED HAWKS to help student-athletes tell their story.
WORDS TO LIVE BY:
Hard work pays off. Working hard is what my parents told me I needed to do if I wanted my goals in life to come true. They haven't steered me wrong.
WHAT COURSE HAVE YOU TAKEN AT CHOWAN THAT HAS INSPIRED YOU?
I took one financial accounting class. This class made me realize I had no idea what kind of bills I was getting ready to pay for. However this class taught me how to manage my money along with easy ways to make more. If I was not a biology major, I probably would have been an accounting major.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY OUTSIDE OF PLAYING BASKETBALL?
I enjoy cooking whenever I get the chance. I make a mean Shrimp Alfredo.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE CHOWAN?
The small Chowan community makes you feel welcomed. The staff are wonderful people who want to see you succeed in life.
HOW HAVE YOU MADE THE CU COMMUNITY YOURS?
By getting to know other students around campus. They have different personalities that may spark a beautiful friendship.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A FRESHMAN LOOKING TO ENROLL AT CHOWAN IN THE FUTURE?
It's ok not to know what you want to major in when you arrive. You're on your own now and you have to get to know yourself. You may change majors 2-3 times but that's alright. Just make sure you are doing something you love.
