MURFREESBORO, N.C. — The Office of Academic Affairs at Chowan University announced the 2025–26 Outstanding Student Award recipients on Monday morning, with student-athletes strongly represented. A total of 28 Hawks were recognized, accounting for 28 of the 30 students selected campus-wide.

The Outstanding Student Award is one of the university's highest academic honors, recognizing juniors and seniors who maintain a cumulative GPA above 3.0 while demonstrating excellence through community service, campus involvement, leadership, and overall academic achievement.

Chowan student-athletes from 13 programs earned recognition. Volleyball led the way with six honorees, followed by softball and women's soccer with four each. Baseball had three selections, while men's lacrosse and women's swimming each placed two. Men's basketball, men's soccer, men's golf, men's cross country, men's swimming, women's tennis, and football each had one recipient.
