HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan enters the tournament with a 1-7 overall record. Beth Walker, Lindsey Stigler, and Haley Cooper pace the team with six hits each. Walker leads the team hitting .375 with six walks. Cooper leads the team with three RBI along with Brittany Parson and Miranda Glover.
MOVING THE MAVERICKS
Mercy finished the 2018 season with a 31-17 overall record before bowing out in the ECC Softball Championship.
The Mavericks are led by NFCA All-Region player, Mikayla Newham. Newham hit .398 last season with 66 hits and 27 RBI. Yazzy Jameson will lead the Mavericks in the circle after posting a 10-6 record and a 3.55 ERA last season.
BATTLING THE LIONS
Emmanuel (Ga.) is 2-4 on the season after posting a 24-29 record last season in the Conference Carolinas.
Noelle Petty leads the Lions with a .444 batting average with eight hits and three RBI. Madison Abell leads the team in the circle with a 2-1 record and a 2.63 ERA in 16.0 innings.
PASSING THE PATRIOTS
Francis Marion is 5-3 on the season. The Patriots went 19-25 last season as a member of the Peach Belt Conference.
The Patriots are led by Jessica Harney hitting .375 with three home runs and 11 RBI. Janecia Hemingway is 3-0 in the circle this season with a 2.38 ERA. Katelyn Ellard is 2-0 this season with a 3.17 ERA.
