Every month throughout the calendar year, Chowan Athletics will be highlighting student-athletes in the new series FEATURED HAWKS to help student-athletes tell their story.
WHAT EXPERIENCES MADE YOU GET INTO COACHING:
I grew up always involved in athletics and it became a passion of mine.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING IN COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS?
Being around young adults and watching them grow, as well as helping them to succeed both on and off the court.
WHAT IS A FUN FACT THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I own over 100 bobbleheads.
WHAT VALUES DO YOU TRY TO INSTILL INTO THE STUDENT-ATHLETES?
Accountability, honesty, being dependable, all of which will help them succeed post-graduation/ in the real world.
HOW HAVE YOU MADE THE CU COMMUNITY YOURS?
Growing up in a small town in West Virginia, similar to the size of Murfreesboro, it felt like home instantly. Throughout the three years I have been here I have made lifelong friendships.
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
My camper in Seneca Rocks, WV with no cell phone service, because it is beautiful and so peaceful.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CHOWAN HAWK?
Bleeding blue, being a part of a family, and wanting not only the Athletic Department, but also the University to be successful.
