Josh Vincent pitched 3.0 innings of relief to pick up his first save of the season.

Harry Markotay and Trent Brosdahl picked up two hits each to pace the Hawks attack.  Chowan registered 10 hits on the afternoon.  Markotay, Brosdahl, Julian Lopez and Trenton Lee registered a RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After two quick innings of work by Cody Smith, picking up four strikeouts along the way, the Hawks cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning.  Robert Williams drew a one-out walk and moved to second on a passed ball.  Trent Brosdahl doubled down the left field line to score Williams for the 1-0 advantage.

Chowan added another run in the bottom of the third inning as Harry Markotay doubled to start the inning.  Marquise Lanier drew a walk before moving to second on the attempted double steal.  Julian Lopez singled home a run with a base hit up the middle to extend the lead to 2-0.

St. Andrews was able to break through in the fourth inning posting a run off three hits and a walk to close the gap to 2-1.

The scoring would slow until the bottom of the seventh as Anthony Jefferson singled and advanced to second on a throwing miscue.  Jefferson ended up at third on a passed ball before coming around to score on Harry Markotay's single to center.

Chowan added two runs in the bottom of the eighth to extend their lead to 5-1.  Nick Rose singled to left center to start the inning.  Trent Brosdahl drew a walk and Tyler Jones loaded the bases on a single to left.  Trenton Lee reached on a fielder's choice to bring home Rose.  Lee produced a run on a run-down allowing Brosdahl to score.

The Knights added a tally in the top of the ninth inning as a fielding error produced a run.
