MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team saw their winning streak come to an end as Lincoln rallied to take an 87-81 overtime win to spoil the Hawks' senior night on Wednesday evening.

Demetrius Sanders led the Hawks with 24 points on 10-17 shooting (58.8%) and eight rebounds. Gus Rowland notched a 20 point outing connecting from deep six times.
Tim Hewett finished his home career with 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Dino Muminovic took over as the top shot blocker in program history with five blocks tonight to bring his total to 70 on the season and in his career.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Both teams traded baskets to open the half as neither side had more than a three point advantage through the first seven minutes of play.
With Lincoln leading 15-14, three straight triples pushed the Hawks in front 23-15 midway through the half. Demetrius Sanders knocked down the first two before Gus Rowland capped off the run.
The Lions responded with a 14-0 run to take back the lead, 29-23, with 6:04 remaining. Lincoln maintained the small lead until a pair of triples by Gus Rowland allowed the Hawks to regain the lead, 40-39, with 46 seconds left in the half.
Trevis Buckhanon tallied a pair from the stripe to lead the Hawks into the locker room with a 42-40 advantage.
Second Half:
Chowan saw their lead move to six, 50-44, as Demetrius Sanders produced a dunk. Robert Grubbs pushed the lead further with a triple.
Lincoln would rally with a 9-4 run to cut the deficit to one, 57-56, before a 13-5 run by the Hawks pushed the advantage to nine, 70-61 with 6:18 remaining. Tim Hewett started the rally with a layup. Dino Muminovic and Demetrius Sanders jumped in on the action. The Lions found a three before Robert Grubbs answered at the other end.
The Lions would catch fire to end regulation going 6-11 from the floor to mount a 14-5 run to tie the contest at 75-all. Lincoln had a chance to win the game in regulation but was not fast enough to get the shot off before the buzzer.
Overtime:
The Lincoln rally continued into overtime doubling up the Hawks, 12-6, during the extra five minutes.
Gus Rowland knocked down a three in the period for the only field goal for the Hawks.
