HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan enters the 2018 campaign looking for their fourth CIAA Title and fourth consecutive CIAA Northern Division Championship. The Hawks finished the season with a 36-20 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional.
The Hawks return Kris Neal, Brittany Parson and Haley Cooper with the offensive power, along with Shelby Griffis and Shannon Buchanan in the circle.
Chowan has big shoes to fill losing Kayla Robins, Danielle Baccus, Katrina Simmons and Tina White to graduation.
BULLDOG BITES
Barton finished the 2017 season with a 24-27 overall record in the Conference Carolinas. The Bulldogs dropped both games in the Conference Carolinas Tournament. Barton is picked to finish sixth in their respective league.
Brittany Jacobs returns for the Bulldogs with the top batting average (.314). Hannah Jones and Sierra Hearp return in the circle winning 19 games.
SERIES IN REVIEW
Chowan holds the overall record against Barton, 8-2. The Hawks are on a five game win streak. Chowan took the only meeting last season on March 5, as the Hawks won 9-3 in Cary, N.C.
