MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team rallied to take game one of the series against Molloy on Saturday afternoon, 8-2.

Harry Markotay had the hot bat going 3-5 at the plate with three RBI. Harley Davidson picked up two hits and two RBI.
Josh Vincent moved to 2-1 on the season tossing a complete game allowing two runs off nine singles. Vincent did not allow a walk and produced 13 ground outs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After getting the first out of the inning, Molloy strung together four straight singles to score two runs in the opening frame.
Chowan looked to crack into the run column in the bottom of the second inning as Robert Williams and Julian Lopez reached on the free pass. Williams and Lopez advanced 90 feet on a passed ball but was stranded in scoring position.
The Hawks broke through in the bottom of the fourth inning as three straight walks loaded the bases. Harley Davidson singled up the middle to score the first run of the contest for the Hawks. Anthony Jefferson drew a two-out walk to load the bases again for the Hawks before Harry Markotay unloaded the bases with a triple to right field to put Chowan up 5-2.
Chowan added three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to close the door to lead 8-2. Trent Brosdahl started the inning reaching on an error. A ground out pushed Brosdahl into scoring position before a single to right center by Julian Lopez opened the rally. Four straight hits by the Hawks produced two more runs to take the final tally to 8-2.
