FLORENCE, S.C. – The Chowan Baseball team dropped the series finale against Francis Marion, 4-2, on Wednesday afternoon on the road.

Robert Williams produced two hits on the afternoon to lead the Hawks. Marquise Lanier hit his fourth home run of the season in his only hit of the afternoon.
Harley Davidson recorded the other RBI in the contest. Trent Brosdahl reached twice on hit-by-pitches.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Marquise Lanier gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead just two batters in as Lanier hit a 3-2 pitch over the left field wall.
Robert Williams and Tyler Jones put two base knocks together in the top of the second but were held scoreless in the inning.
In the fourth inning, Robert Williams started off the rally with a one out single up the middle. Tyler Jones pushed Williams to second after being hit by a pitch. Harley Davidson singled to right center to bring home Williams to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.
Francis Marion answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to knot the contest at two aside. Three hits and an error in the inning allowed the Patriots to score.
The Patriots would add the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning as another error allowed a run to score. FMU added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh to lead 4-2.
The Hawks would be held scoreless for the final two innings.

Chowan returns home for a three-game series against Molloy on Saturday and Sunday, February 17-18. The Hawks will play a doubleheader on Saturday with a single game on Sunday. First pitch is at 12pm.
