HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan is 2-2 this season coming off doubleheader splits of Barton and Belmont Abbey to start the season. The Hawks are 1-1 at home this season.
Shelby Griffis and Shannon Buchanan each have a win this season in the circle. Griffis is coming off a win against Belmont Abbey in the night cap. Griffis was named CIAA Pitcher of the Week for her complete game against the Crusaders.
Kris Neal leads the team with a .455 batting average and five hits. Beth Walker and Haley Cooper have three RBI each. Walker leads the team with two doubles. Cooper was named CIAA Defensive Player of the Week with a 1.000 fielding average on 12 chances.
TROJAN TRIALS
Mount Olive is 0-2 on the season following their doubleheader loss at Francis Marion over the weekend.
Callie Ferrell leads the Trojans with a .500 average and three hits. Ferrell also has a double and triple to her total.
SERIES IN REVIEW
Chowan and Mount Olive will meet for the 17-18 times in the series. The Trojans hold the series lead 11-5. The Hawks and Trojans split the series last year on the road. Chowan won the first game 3-0 before falling 6-5 in the night cap.
