MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team hosts the first of three parts of the cross-town rivalry against Elizabeth City State on Wednesday evening.
The first meeting is a non-conference contest with the final two being CIAA Northern Division games.

Chowan matched their best start to the season with a 4-0 record after defeating Mount Olive over the weekend.
Demetrius Sanders paces the team with 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Timothy Bing upped his scoring average to 15.0 points per game after being named CIAA Newcomer of the Week for his 25 point output against UMO.
Gus Rowland and Michael Kelly chip in with 12.5 and 10.5 points per game respectively.
DENYING THE VIKING VICTORY
Elizabeth City State is 2-4 on the season after falling in back-to-back contests to nationally-ranked opponents, #20 Barton and #18 USC Aiken.
The Vikings are led by former CIAA Rookie of the Year, Zach Hobbs, with 17.8 points per game. Shyheid Petteway and John Maynor are posting 12.7 and 12.3 points per game respectively.
