MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams along with the Chowan Volleyball team will be in action this weekend. The Hawks will face the Crusaders on Saturday with the soccer team taking on North Greenville, while the Volleyball team faces Belmont Abbey and North Greenville.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan dropped a heartbreaking loss at home against Mount Olive on Wednesday in Conference Carolinas action, 2-1, in overtime. The Hawks moved to seventh in the regional rankings at the beginning of the week. Chowan sits with a 4-2-1 overall record and 2-2-0 in league action.
Harry Garstang, Trevin Myers, and Harry Ardron sit with three goals each on the season. Denis Roule and Erik Ruiz have chipped in with two goals. Mitchell Levi Lewis sits with five assists on the season.
FACING THE CRUSADERS
North Greenville sits with a 4-5-1 overall record and a 1-3-1 record in Conference Carolinas action. NGU is on a three match slide.
Zach Baker and Gareth Greene lead the attack with five and four goals respectively.
Women's Soccer
HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan picked up a 2-1 victory against Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas action to move to 3-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in league action this season.
Sabrina Henderson is having a strong sophomore season with eight goals to lead the team. Carolina Lucci, last season's leading scorer, is second on the team with three goals but leads the team with six assists.
The backline defense of: Asia Fort, Shannon Park, Ashlyn Smith, Rebekah Langley, and Sydney Henderson has helped netminder Olivia Borer post a 1.38 goals against average.
CONTROLLING THE CRUSADERS
North Greenville is 6-4-0 on the season and sits near the top of the league standings with a 4-2-0 record in the league. NGU is tough to beat at home this season with a 5-1-0 record with three shutouts.
Kayla Cruse and Megan Biehl lead the attack for the Crusaders with three goals each. Four players have two goals on the season.
Volleyball
HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan moved to 5-9 on the season after a straight sets victory over Elizabeth City State on Thursday afternoon in CIAA play.
Kayla Gates paces the team with 104 kills this season after a double figure outing against the Vikings. Courtney O'Keefe continued to swing the hot hand to move to 90 kills on the season.
Breona Young registered six total blocks against the Vikings with five solo blocks.
CRUSADER DOUBLE TAKE
Belmont Abbey is 10-7 on the season with a 2-1 record at home this season. North Greenville is 10-9 midway through the season.
Belmont Abbey Crusaders have three players with 100+ kills on the season led by Mackenzie Chrapliwy with 184 kills. Chrapliwy is second on the team with 149 digs following libero Sarah Kenney with 298 digs.
North Greenville Crusaders also have three players with 100+ kills as Annie Beisecker paces the team with 147 kills. NGU runs a two setter system as Sara Miller and Eaden Shockley have 303 and 271 assists respectively.
