MYRTLE BEACH, N.C.-The Chowan Men's and Women's Golf team completed play at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 14
th and 11
th place respectively.

ON THE COURSE
For the Women:
The women played both rounds on the Panther Run Course which totaled 5,937 yards and a par 72.
Newberry posted a 299 round two team score and 606 final to secure first place over Lenoir-Rhyne. The Bears were just three shots from the team title after recording a 305 on Tuesday and 609 final. Placing third is Converse with a 301 second round score. Â
Newberry's Johana Lunackova took home medalist after she shot a 72 and 147 tournament final.
Leading the Hawks was
Inecia Rolle who improved her first round by two strokes to post a 74 on the day. The talented junior secured fifth for the Blue and White with seven pars and a birdie on the front nine and four pars and two birdies on the back.
L'leah Laing shot an 89 for Chowan while teammate,
Reina Pozo posted a 90 in the final round.
Gaby Rivera-Garcia also improved her score by seven strokes to finish the tournament in 59
th overall.

For the Men:
The men competed on the Lions Paw course which equaled 6,654 yards and par 71.
Host Lincoln Memorial secured first place with a 289 second round score and 568 final. Just two strokes behind was Lenior-Rhyne who took second place after recording a 280. Barton secured third place after posting a 288 on the day.
Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury posted a 68 to take home individual medalist.
As a team, the Hawks improved their first round score by 26 shots to place 14
th in the tournament. Leading for the Blue and White was
Donald Thaxton who shaved off five strokes for a 77 final round score. Thaxton carded five pars on the back nine after posting seven pars on the front.
Teammates
Steven Rhinard and
Dale Davis also improved their final round score. Rhinard posted a 76 on Tuesday to finish T66 while Davis shot a 79 for the Hawks to finish in 72
nd overall.
Tyler Pittman improved his opening score to card an 81 while
Graham Cowan posted an 82 in the final round.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back in action in mid-October as the women travel to Spartanburg, S.C. on Oct 22 to compete in the Converse Fall Invitational. The men will play in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate on Oct 15-16 hosted by Lenior-Rhyne.
