CU Basketball Travels To Lincoln In League Action

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Basketball will look to rebound against Lincoln (Pa.) in CIAA Northern Division action on Saturday on the road.

Women's Basketball (Game Notes)

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
In the last outing for the Hawks, Chowan was unable to overcome a cold shooting night as Bowie State held off the comeback in CIAA Northern Division action.  Chowan dropped to 14-4 on the season and 6-2 in league play.

The Hawks moved up to seventh in the D2SIDA poll after beating #6 Virginia State. CU has been ranked every week this season in the poll.

The Blue and White is led by seniors Dhyamond Crenshaw and Chantel Roberts.  Crenshaw leads the team with 17.4 points per game.  Roberts is averaging a double-double in CIAA play this season at 19.3 points and 11.1 rebounds per outing.

Mariah Coker chips in with 12.4 points and 5.8 assists per contest.  Danielle Weldon adds to the mix with 10.6 points and 7.8 rebounds a game.

Mariah Coker and Coach LaToya Jones garnered CIAA Weekly honors this week.

LIONS LAIR
Lincoln (Pa.) is off to a great start this season with a 12-5 record after finishing 9-20 last season.  The Lions are second in the CIAA with a 7-2 record and 2-1 in divisional play.

Tiera Pendleton and Michelle Fitzgerald pace the Lions with double-figure scoring at 14.4 and 13.1 points per game respectively.  Pendleton is scoring 15.3 points per contest in league action.

Men's Basketball (Game Notes)

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan moved to 2-6 this season in contests decided by less than five points with a 68-63 loss to Bowie State.  The Hawks are 7-10 this season and 2-6 in CIAA action.

The Hawks have three players in double-figures in scoring.  Tim Hewett leads the team with 16.9 points per night and is a point better per outing in league play.  Gus Rowland and Robert Grubbs adds 12.9 and 12.8 points each to the scoring.

Dino Muminovic has thrown a block party since his arrival on campus.  The senior transfer has produced 53 blocks so far this season.  Muminovic sits fifth in the nation in total blocks.

LIONS LAIR
Lincoln (Pa.) is 9-10 on the season and 4-5 in CIAA play.  The Lions are 2-3 this season in close contests.

Gevon Arrington leads the pack with 12.7 points per game with Elijah Bush and Sean James scoring 12.1 points each.
