Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-8 Conference Carolinas loss to North Greenville University. Both teams, along with Converse College, were fighting for the sixth position in the Conference Carolinas Championship next week. The Hawks conclude the regular season 5-10 overall and 3-7 in league play. Five wins marks a program high since its inception in 2013. North Greenville improved to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in league play after the match.
North Greenville posted 14 first half goals for a 14-3 first half lead. Chowan answered with three quick scores by
Alexandria Hammonds to open the second half of play. North Greenville's offense was too much to over come as the Hawks fell with an eventual final score of 20-8.
The Crusaders out shot the Hawks 35-22 in the match. They finished up 19 of 21 in clear attempts and picked up 33 ground balls.
Alexandria Hammonds had a team-high four scores and 11 draw controls.
Tashana Barnett had three scores and
Heather Orell had one goal and three assists in the match.
Shaena Ravenell posted five saves in goal.
