Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-7 decision to Converse College on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks fell to 5-9 overall and 3-6 in Conference Carolinas play following the match. Converse improved to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in league play. 

Chowan trailed 8-2 at the half and battled back to score five second half goals but Converse's first half lead was too much to overcome in the eventual 13-7 loss. 

Chowan was led offensively by Alexandria Hammonds who posted three scores, three assists, and six draw controls. The freshman midfielder also accounted for five caused turnovers. Leslie Escobar, Jasmine Latney,and Misten White each added a score. Jennifer Caird added a goal and two assists in the match. 

Shaena Ravenell posted seven stops in goal for Chowan. For Converse, Laura Starkes scored a match high four goals. Chowan was 9 of 10 in clear attempts and picked up 19 ground balls. The Hawks out shot the Valkyries 24 to 21 in the match. 

The Hawks have one match left remaining in the regular season when North Greenville University comes to town for a 1:00pm match on April 22nd. That match will serve as Senior Day for Sierra Burtson, Jennifer Caird, and Lasha Anderson.
