Box Score WINGATE, NC - The Chowan University women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-3 decision to Wingate University in nonconference action on Wednesday afternoon. Freshman attack Heather Orell recorded all three scores for the Hawks, bringing her season total to 32 to lead the squad. 

Wingate jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Hawks answered at the 19:33 mark of the first period with Orell's first score. The Bulldogs went on to score seven more goals to take a 12-1 lead into the halftime break. Wingate went on to outscore the Hawks 8-2 in the second half for the 20-3 win. 

Chowan posted six shots and picked up 10 ground balls in the match. Alexandria Hammonds collected six draw controls and Shaena Ravenell picked up six stops in the net. 

The Hawks will get back to Conference Carolinas action on Saturday, April 1st with a trip to Erskine College. First draw is set for 1:00pm
