ELIZABETH CITY, NC - The Chowan University basketball teams will get back to action on Saturday, February 4th when they travel over to CIAA Northern Division rival, Elizabeth City State University. Saturday's games start the second swing of CIAA Northern Division play for both teams.
Both the Hawks programs beat the Vikings earlier this year but the CU-ECSU rivalry always makes for exciting basketball.
Currently the women's program is 14-7 overall and 7-4 in the CIAA. They sit in second place in the CIAA Northern Division behind #7 nationally ranked, Virginia Union University. ECSU enters Saturday's game at 4-19 overall and 2-9 in the CIAA.
The men's program is currently 14-6 overall and 7-4 in the league play. The are in 3rd place in the CIAA Northern Division behind Virginia State University and Virginia Union University respectively. At 1-18 overall and 2-9 in the CIAA, the Vikings will be a tough game because of the rivalry.
