MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Basketball team continues their CIAA road-trip as the Hawks travel to Fayetteville State in a cross-divisional clash on Thursday, December 14.
The men will play in the early contest allowing the women to highlight the nightcap.

Chowan fought tough in the loss to Shaw on Tuesday evening as the Hawks fell behind early as time ran out for the Hawks to drop their fifth straight contest to move to 4-5 on the season.
Chowan is led by senior Tim Hewett averaging 16.7 points per game. Demetrius Sanders (13.6), Robert Grubbs (12.3), and Gus Rowland (10.3) are also in double-figures. Dino Muminovic is coming on strong the past four games averaging 12.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest.
ABOUT THE BRONCOS
Fayetteville State is 3-6 on the season and losers of four of their last five including losses to Lander and Allen. The Broncos welcome the Hawks for their CIAA opener.
Josh Bryant leads the Broncos with 19.6 points per game, fourth best in the league.

Chowan ran their winning streak to five as the Hawks moved to 9-1 on the season opening CIAA play with a win over Shaw on Tuesday evening. The Hawks are soaring high ranked eighth in the recent D2SIDA Atlantic Regional poll.
The Hawks are led by seniors Dhyamond Crenshaw and Chantel Roberts. Crenshaw leads the team with 19.1 points per game. Roberts is close behind with 16.4 ppg and 7.8 rebounds per contest. Mariah Coker chips in with 12.7 points and a shade under five dimes a game. Danielle Weldon adds to the mix with 10 points and 8.1 rebounds a game.
CU is tops in the CIAA in several categories. The Hawks lead in points per game (80.5), steals (13.6), and rebounds (52.4).
ABOUT THE BRONCOS
Fayetteville State will look to change its fortunes as the Hawks handed the Broncos a 73-55 loss over Thanksgiving Break. The Broncos have had time to rest playing in one game since the meeting. Fayetteville State is 5-3 on the season and 4-1 at home.
Jamesha Mosley and Shantel Bennett lead the team in scoring with 12.7 and 11.3 ppg respectively. Yakima Clifton is the catalyst with 8.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.
