Box Score Elizabeth City, NC - The Chowan University men's basketball team hit 13 three-pointers in route to a 97-42 win over Mid Atlantic Christian University on Thursday night. The Hawks improved to 13-5 overall after the non-conference win.
The Hawks have amassed 193 points in a two-game stretch, including draining 59% (38-64) of their shots taken in Thursday's win. Chowan hit 13 shots from beyond the arc, led by
Andrew Lopez who hit for five of the team's 13 three balls. Lopez ended the game with 17 points.
Kevin Kuteyi scored a game-high 20 points and accounted for four three-pointers.
Tim Hewett scored 15 points in the win.
The Hawks dominated the glass, holding MACU to 17 rebounds in the contest while grabbing 41 as a team. Chowan's defense also forced 18 MACU turnovers.
With Thursday's win over MACU, Chowan has won their last three games in a row. The Hawks head back into conference play on Saturday when they travel to Virginia Union University for a 4:00pm tip off at Barco-Stevens Hall.
