MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University men's and women's basketball programs are set to host CIAA Northern Division opponents, Lincoln University, on Wednesday night. Tip off is slated at 5:30pm for the women's game and 7:30pm for the men. Both games will be played at the Helms Center on the campus of Chowan University. 

The Chowan women's team enters the match up at 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the CIAA. The Hawks sit in third place in the CIAA North Division behind #2 nationally ranked Virginia Union University and Bowie State University. They are coming off a tough 75-70 overtime loss to Bowie State on Saturday. Jordan Payne led the Hawks with 22 points and 12 rebound in the setback. Dhyamond Crenshaw recorded 13 points and five steals while Jada Lee chipped in 10 points for the Hawks. Payne is currently ranked 5th in the CIAA in scoring per game with 15.2 points per outing. She is third in rebounds per game with 10.9 rebounds a game. Lincoln's women enter the game sitting in 5th place in the CIAA North. They have a 5-13 overall record and 3-6 CIAA record. 

The Chowan men's team enters the match up at 11-5 overall and 5-3 in the CIAA. The Hawks sit in third place in the CIAA Northern Division behind Virginia State University and Virginia Union University. Chowan is coming off a 59-58 win over Bowie State on Saturday. Jeremy Smith's 23 points helped the Hawks in a second half surge that got them the one point win. The game featured nine ties and 12 lead changes but the Hawks got the final say.Chowan shot 41% (18-44) from the floor in the game and saw three players net double-figures. Besides Smith's 23 points, Kevin Kuteyi scored 12 points and went 4-6 from beyond the three point arc. Joe Goodwin scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Lincoln University's men enter the game with a 6-12 overall record and 5-4 CIAA record. They are in fourth place in the CIAA Northern Division.
