Box Score PHILIPPI, WV- The Chowan University women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-3 setback against Alderson-Broaddus University on Tuesday afternoon. The loss drops the Hawks to 0-4 on the season while the Battlers improve to 2-0 on the year.

Krista Cooper and Allison Rogers each scored three goals apiece in the win for the Battlers with Jasmine Barham, Mykirah Jones, Brooke Thomas, Sarah White, and Aurora Winwood all finding the back of the net twice for Alderson-Broaddus in the victory. Alexandra Haydu and Ceiliah Kempton each added a score over the course of the contest.

Mackenzie Reid led the effort with two goals for the Hawks in the setback while Jennifer Caird scored her first goal for the Chowan Blue and White.

Haley Haggard made seven saves in goal for the Hawks with Fallyn Gonzales recording four saves for the Battlers over the course of the afternoon.

Alderson-Broaddus took control of the contest right from the start, with seven different players accounting for nine goals before Caird found the back of the net, putting the Hawks on the board with just under four minutes remaining in the first period. The Battlers answered with a goal by Rogers to take a commanding 10-1 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Alderson-Broaddus extended their lead to 11-1 shortly after halftime before Reid scored two goals off of two free position attempts to shift the momentum in favor of the Hawks. The Battlers closed out the contest with seven unanswered goals to easily secure the 18-3 victory in their home opener.

The Hawks return to action on March 6^th and 7^th as Chowan plays host to UVA-Wise and Newberry College. First draw is slated for 2:00pm on both days.
