Box Score MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University women's basketball team earned a 72-52 win over Lincoln University (PA) on Wednesday evening. The Hawks improve to 19-6 overall and 13-2 in CIAA play with the victory while the Lady Lions slip to 13-10 overall and 8-7 in the league after the setback.
The Chowan women's basketball team continues to make history with their most successful season in the NCAA Division II era. Wednesday's win tied the program's record for most wins in a season (19). The last team to earn the honor was the 2004-05 squad.

Alisha Mobley posted a career-best 32 points in the victory while
Jordan Payne notched 15 rebounds (eight offensive, seven defensive).
Jada Lee added 16 points in the victory for Chowan.
CourtneySmith drained 10 points for Lincoln (PA) in the setback while Amani Clark added nine points for the Lady Lions.
Dhyamond Crenshaw opened the contest with a jumper for the Hawks to give Chowan an early 2-0 edge. Chowan extended their advantage to as many as eight points (10-2) after a free throw by Mobley. The Hawks maintained the lead for the entire first quarter and held a 17-12 edge after the first ten minutes of play.
The Hawks continued the momentum into the second quarter and held a 10 point lead (30-20) with 1:41 on the clock. A three-pointer by Lisa Saunders followed by a layup by Jaeda Davis left Chowan clinging to a 30-25 lead heading into the halftime break.
Chowan and Lincoln (PA) exchanged baskets early in the third quarter but the Hawks refused to surrender the advantage. With 2:08 on the clock a jumper by Payne gave Chowan a commanding 48-34 lead and propelled the Hawks to a 48-40 lead entering the final ten minutes of the contest.
Lincoln (PA) fought to stay within striking distance in the fourth quarter before Elisia Digg's layup with 4:33 left to play pushed the Hawks ahead 60-49. Chowan maintained a double-digit advantage for the remainder of the contest and used a three-pointer by Mobley to secure the 72-52 victory.
The Hawks conclude the regular season on Saturday as Chowan travels to take on Virginia Union University. Chowan enters the contest looking to claim their first CIAA Northern Division title in program history. Tip-off is slated for 2:00pm.
