MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University men's basketball team will host Lenoir-Rhyne University on Friday, December 30th. The match up will be the Hawks first game since last hosting Saint Augustine's University on December 17th. Tip off is set for 7:30pm at the Helms Center. 

Chowan will enter the non-conference game at 7-2 on the year. The Hawks are a perfect 6-0 at home so far this season, including winning their last three games at the Helms Center. Lenoir-Rhyne University comes into Friday's match up at 5-5 on the year. The two teams met on November 27th of this season with the Hawks pulling out a 78-76 road win. CU's Marco Haskins dropped 19 points to lead the scoring attack while Hank Edmonds scored 15 points in the win.

Four Chowan players are averaging double-figures, helping the Hawks outscore their 2016-17 opponents by nearly an average of seven points per game. Kevin Kuteyi is leading the way with 16.6 points an outing. Kuteyi also has a team-high 26 steals and 29 assists this season. Teammate Jeremy Smith is averaging 14.8 points a game and hauling in 8.9 rebounds per game.
