Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Chowan University women's basketball team exhibited a dominating performance on Saturday evening with a 103-51 nonconference win over Saint Augustine's University.  The Hawks move to 6-0 on the season with the victory while the Lady Falcons drop to 2-5 on the year with the setback.  The Chowan women's basketball team fell one point shy of the school's single-game points record (104 vs. Mary Baldwin College, 2000). 

Chowan had four players score double-digit points in the win.  Jordan Payne poured in 24 points for the Hawks while hauling in 11 rebounds (three offensive, eight defensive).  Payne has recorded a double-double performance in each of Chowan's six games this season.  Danielle Weldon added 14 points and 10 rebounds (six offensive, four defensive) while Dominique Weldon and Courtni Williams both notched 11 points in the victory. 

Kiana Clark scored a team-high 12 points for the Lady Falcons.  Maiya Gibson added seven points in the setback while Kaaliya Williams grabbed nine rebounds (two offensive, seven defensive) over the course of the competition. 

Saint Augustine's opened the contest with a three-pointer by Gibson, but from there, it was all about the Hawks.  A layup by Lindsey Williams followed by a bucket by Mariah Coker gave Chowan a 4-3 lead.  After gaining the lead, the Hawks never looked back; building their lead to as many as 15 points (23-8) before closing out the first quarter with a comfortable 25-11 advantage. 

Chowan continued the momentum into the second quarter.  At the 8:40 mark, Crenshaw's basket pushed the Hawks ahead 31-11.  The Lady Falcons were unable to overcome the deficit, and headed into halftime trailing 48-22. 

The Hawks dominated the third and fourth quarters.  Chowan maintained a lead of 24 or more points in the remainder of the contest before closing out the game with the 103-51 win.

The Hawks return to action on December 2^nd when Chowan travels to take on Clayton State University.  Tip-off is slated for 5:30pm.  Chowan will battle Armstrong State University on December 3^rd in a 1:30pm contest on the campus of Clayton State University.
