Box Score CHARLOTTE, NC- The Chowan University lacrosse team dropped an 18-9 decision to Wingate University on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks drop to 3-7 on the season with the loss while the Bulldogs improve to 8-6 on the year with the win.
Charisse Wilcox led the effort for the Hawks with five goals in the contest.

Kamile Smith each added one goal apiece for the Hawks in the loss. Herndon and Smith each notched one assist while
Rachael Cramer made 10 saves in goal for the Chowan Blue and White.
Wingate had nine players contribute to 18 total goals in the win. Emily Nosek led the way with four goals followed by Logan Bounds and Jaclyn Chiesa with three goals apiece. The Bulldogs won 27 of the game's 29 draw controls and outshot the Hawks 32-15 in the win while collecting 56 ground balls.
Wingate jumped to a quick 3-0 lead before Reid put the Hawks on the board with 22:07 left in the first period. The Bulldogs answered with 10 unanswered goals resulting in a 13-1 lead before Wilcox found the back of the net for the Chowan Blue and White with just under six minutes on the clock before halftime. Wilcox scored an additional goal for the Hawks in the first period but Chowan trailed 16-3 heading into halftime.
The Hawks and Bulldogs exchanged goals to open the second period, making the score 17-4. Chowan dug deep to outscore Wingate 5-2 in the remainder of the contest but the damage was done as the Bulldogs clinched the 18-9 victory on their home field.
The Hawks look to recover on April 7
th when they take on Brevard College. First draw is slated for 4:00pm.
