Box Score MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University lacrosse team dropped a 14-10 decision on Friday afternoon against the visiting ThunderWolves of Colorado State University-Pueblo. The Hawks move to 3-5 on the season with the loss while the ThunderWolves improve to 3-7 on the year. The loss snapped a three-game win streak for the Chowan Blue and White.
Mackenzie Reid paced the Hawks with four goals in the setback.

Charisse Wilcox each added a score for the Hawks.
Rachael Cramer made 17 saves in goal for Chowan.
Allye Webb led all players in the game with five goals for CSU-Pueblo. Kiana Kelii and Mazine Bartholomew each scored twice in the victory and Daniella Calvo, Rachael Cannon, Skylur Marshall, Rachael Welzin and Alix Zierden all added a score in the victory. The Thunderwolves outshot the Hawks 39-25 over the course of the competition and collected 30 ground balls in comparison to 19 by Chowan.
Marshall put the ThunderWolves on the board 20 seconds into the contest with an unassisted goal. Smith found the back of the net just over one minute latter to knot the score 1-1. CSU-Pueblo used a score by Kelii and Webb's free position goal to pull away 3-1 at the 23:20 mark before Reid answered with a goal for Chowan with 20:51 on the clock. The ThunderWolves responded with four unanswered goals to take a 7-2 lead before Reid rattled off three goals on free position shots to make the score 7-4 heading into halftime.
CSU-Pueblo tacked on two goals within the first four minutes of the second period before Simons' goal for Chowan broke up the ThunderWolves run. CSU-Pueblo built their lead to 13-6 using four goals by three different players to take the commanding lead. Chowan battled back using goals by Escobar, Simons, Wilcox and Herndon in the last nine minutes of play but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. Cannon added an additional score for CSU-Pueblo to confirm the 14-10 win for the ThunderWolves.
The Hawks return to action on March 30
th when they travel to Catawba College. First draw is slated for 3:00pm.
