Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University women's lacrosse team fell 14-2 to the Converse College Valkyries on Saturday afternoon.  The Hawks slip to 2-5 on the season while the Valkyries improve to 3-4 with the win. 
 
Chelsea Worrell paced Converse with four goals in the victory.  Laura Starkes notched three goals while Jordy Taylor and Rachel Halley added two scores.  Amelia Helm, Jennifer Barksdale, and Deena Kasmarik each tallied goals for the Valkyries as well. 
 
Mackenzie Reid scored both goals for the Hawks on Saturday.  Haley Haggard notched seven saves while Rachael Cramer collected nine saves in the second half. 
 
Converse rattled off six unanswered goals to start the contest before Reid put the Hawks on the board at the 9:04 mark.  Four more scores for the Valkyries left Chowan trailing 10-1 heading into halftime. 
 
Converse scored at the 20:31, 10:22, 7:03 and 3:31 marks in the second half to pull away 14-1.  Reid found the back of the net again with 53 seconds left on the clock but the damage was done as Chowan suffered the 14-2 setback.
 
The Hawks return to action on March 18^th when they host Slippery Rock University at 4:00pm.
