Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The Chowan University women's lacrosse team dropped their fifth straight match on Thursday afternoon in a 24-5 loss to Slippery Rock University.  The Hawks move to 2-6 on the season with the loss while the Rock improves to 3-1. 

Slippery Rock used two separate 6-0 runs in the opening half and closed the first period with a 12-1 run to lead 15-3 at halftime before closing out the contest with the 24-5 victory. 

Kaytlin Callaghan scored five goals in the win while Erin Wilcox and Katie Cook each tallied two goals.  Chynna Chan added two goals and notched a school record six assists. 

The Hawks were paced by Charisse Wilcox and Mackenzie Reid who tallied two goals apiece.  Adriea Herndon added a score to aid the effort. 

Chowan returns to Hawks Field on Saturday when they host Catawba College in a 2:00pm contest.
