SUFFOLK, VA- The Chowan University men's golf team saw their fall season come to an end in thrilling fashion on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks took home first place team honors in the Sleepy Hole Invitational hosted by Elizabeth City State University. The team win is the second team victory in program history.
The Hawks finished in first place of the four team field with a combined score of 324. Virginia State University followed with a 328. Livingstone College and Elizabeth City State University finished in third and fourth place respectively after turning in team scores of 346 and 419.
Billy Britton earned individual medalist honors after carding a 76 in the round.
Jordan Francis followed with a 79 on the afternoon while
Rich Edwards shot an 80 to aid the effort.
Christian Fleetwood rounded out the scoring with a score of 89 for the Blue and White.
Darren Peoples competed in the invitational as well. He carded a 100 in the round.
The Hawks will return to action in the spring of 2015
