SUNSET BEACH, NC- The Chowan University men's golf team completed the second and final round of play at the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 18
th place out of the 19 teams that competed in the tournament.
Wingate University earned with a team score of 283 on Tuesday while Mars Hill College posted a score of 284. Mars Hill's two-day total of 573 resulted in a first place finish for the Lions, while the Bulldogs followed close behind with a two-day score of 574.
After turning in a team score of 313 on Monday, the Hawks earned a team score of 311 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 624.
Jordan Francis shaved six strokes off his first round score (78), and carded a team-low of 72 on Tuesday. He finished tied for 44
th in the 98-player field. Freshman
Rich Edwards turned in a score of 73 on the second day of play, a three stroke improvement from his first round score (76). Edwards finished tied for 48
th overall.
Billy Britton shot a 78 on Tuesday afternoon followed by
Ryan Baker who carded an 88. Britton ended the tournament tied for 76
th place while Baker earned a 93
rd place finish.
The Hawks return to action on October 12
th when they compete in the Trojan Fall Classic hosted by Virginia State University.
