LAURINBURG, NC- The Chowan University men's golf team concluded play at the St. Andrews Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks finished in fifth place out of five teams that competed in the tournament. Chowan turned in a team score of 317 on Tuesday to contribute to a two-day total of 633.
Sandhills Community College took home first place honors. They carded a 301 in the first round and turned in a team score of 298 on Tuesday. Ediz Kemaloglu carded a 73 in the both rounds to earn individual medalist honors for Sandhills.
Jordan Francis led the Hawks with a team low 76 on Tuesday. He finished with a two-day total of 149 and tied for 6
th with Bernie McShane of Spartanburg Methodist Community College.
Rich Edwards finished tied for 23
rd after shaving four strokes off his first round score (81) and carding a 77 on Tuesday.
Billy Britton matched his first round score with an 80 on the afternoon to finish with a two-day score of 160. Britton finished in 27
th place out of the 39 player field. After carding an 82 in the first round,
Sean Wilson shot an 84 in the second round to finish tied for 29
th.
Ryan Baker and
Darren Peoples carded an 85 and 93 respectively. Baker compiled a two-day score of 174 while Peoples ended the tournament with a score of 178.
Christian Fleetwood also competed in the tournament. He shot a 93 on Monday and Tuesday.Baker finished in 34
th place while Peoples and Fleetwood finished in 35
th and 37
th, respectively.
The Hawks return to action on November 2
nd to compete in the Elizabeth City State University Fall Tee-Off.
